Cash flow is the actual money moving in and out of a business over time. Unlike profit, it ignores accounting rules and only counts dollars that have hit the bank account.

Why it can sink a profitable business

A company can be profitable on paper and still run out of cash if customers pay slowly or it's growing inventory faster than sales. Bills don't wait for accounting.
